I am a 25 year old software engineer living in Tampa, Florida. Originally from Lakeland, Florida, I attended the University of South Florida for my undergraduate degree in Computer Information Systems. I am married to my best friend, Amanda, and we have a house in north Tampa with our pit bull mix, Demi.
I have worked as a professional software engineer for three or so years now, and in the Information Technology field for the past 6. I have found myself in large corporations, small companies, and even worked for the University of South Florida during my time there. I have recently become a soldier in the Florida Army National Guard and look forward to the technical and leadership training offered in the militiary services.
In my offline time, I like to stay pretty active and out of the house, as can be seen by my hectic schedule. Previously, I have been a captain for a team that plays in the Temple Terrace division of Kickball Society's adult kickball league. We have been playing together for 5+ seasons now, holding our own in the league's special events and tournaments.
In addition to kickball, I have also worked as a manager of a Minor A Baseball team at Northside Little League, which was a great learning experience. Though it was my first season, it was something I have had an interest in doing for a long time and I enjoy working with the kids.
As a software engineer with an ever-changing field, I try to stay on top of things by reading many industry publications and blogs and catching up with podcasts on my (unfortunately long) commute to work. Some of my favorite websites that almost need to be blocked from my browser are Hacker News, Google Reader, and Slashdot.
